When I came up with the idea to use horary astrology to predict K-pop events I was so proud of myself. What a novel, exciting idea. I could practice this art while also continuing to bug out over K-pop. I imagined myself at the crystal ball forecasting how controversies would play out but my first user submitted question gave me a good reality check.

I received this submission on the 18th as you can see, but I only saw it on the 22nd and then I only remembered to type this up on the 3rd. If the following ends up wrong, it’s probably because I got the timing wrong and I might have gotten the timing wrong because I don’t care about this but anything for you zerosebeepboop.

The first step is to identify who the ascendant symbolises. That would be miss zerosebeepboop, not me because even though I cast the chart I did not ask this question, I would never ask this question. To find where Zerobaseone themselves lie we have to ask ourselves if miss zerosebeepboop identifies with them and I have a good feeling that she does, so ZB1 gets the first house to live in with miss zerosebeepboop as well, I’m sure she’s very happy about that.
The ascendant is in the 1st degree of Gemini. Some textbooks will tell you that an ascendant that’s less than 5 degrees means the chart as a whole is invalid and you won’t be able to figure out a real answer. I like that idea because it means if I’m wrong it’s the chart’s fault not mine, but I have a suspicion that the ascendant is less than 5 degrees because the situation only just started developing. WakeOne probably didn’t realise the contract renewals were up until the landlord of the dorm they rent out for the boys reminded them the lease only has a couple months left. I don’t usually sympathise with landlords but this one is right to want to evict these guys, the apartment probably has mold growing on the walls from all the yaoi particles stinking up the place. Anyway, the ascendant being in Gemini means that ZB1 is given the planet Mercury as a significator and Mercury here is somewhat weak. It’s in a fire sign, which feels unnatural for a planet like Mercury but it is in the 4th house, an angular house which gives Mercury power to act. The angular houses are the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th. If you look closely, the chart is a circle, so whatever is at 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees and 270 degrees is at an angle, this is all very scientific as you can see.
The 10th house is the house we can look at to find whoever’s in charge here. The ruler of the 10th house will act as WakeOne and fittingly Saturn, the evilest, smelliest planet is the ruler of the 10th. Saturn in this chart is even weaker than Mercury, it’s retrograde and it’s in Aries where Saturn is very uncomfortable. It’s going to retrograde into Pisces where it’s a little less uncomfortable but it will continue to be retrograde for a month or so. A retrograde planet is chaotic and ill-equipped to act which is how I know astrology is real because there’s no way a K-pop company could be anything but. Mercury is in Saturn’s term, which is astrojargon for Mercury (ZB1) sees Saturn but it doesn’t care much for it. I’m sure fans would be glad to hear that but that doesn’t bode well for the future of the group.
Contracts themselves have their own special house: the 7th, the other angle. The 7th is ruled by Jupiter which is fairly strong here. But this might only represent their current contract. Jupiter in Cancer points to the current contract providing a good level of comfort for everyone but Mars, the planet of aggression and strife, is intruding. Mars is in Libra, opposite its home of Aries, and it sits in the house of illness and slavery (and puppies too). It also rules the 12th, the house of imprisonment and secret enemies. As financially lucrative as the current contract might be, it comes with a lot of strings attached and as the date of disbandment nears, strife within the group and with the company will worsen making an extension unlikely.
We now have to assess the priorities of everyone involved, I’ll spare you the astrojargon because the following is already confusing enough as is. The group members themselves prioritise pleasure over all. Yes, this could mean they are whoring it out on the streets of Itaewon but it could also mean they like making music. Whether or not they stay together, everyone is attached to the celebrity lifestyle so even if some members leave, they’ll still stick around in the industry to the best of their ability. Whoever is in charge of WakeOne prioritises the company’s reputation the most but as Saturn continues its retrograde, they’ll learn to appreciate day-to-day aspects of running a company.
For clear evidence contract renewal or an extension we need to see an aspect between Mercury, Saturn or Jupiter but there is no aspect between any of these planets meaning no one sees eye to eye and no one is even bothering to argue about it. If there isn’t a clear aspect then we should check to see if any other planet wants to act as a messenger between WakeOne and ZB1. Only one planet is willing to bear such a burden and that is Venus.
Venus in this chart represents the poor souls enslaved by WakeOne to babysit ZB1. Venus was recently very comfortable and happy while hanging out with Jupiter (the lucrative contract) but the good times are over. Venus is now separating from Jupiter and moving into the sign of Leo where it will first get yelled at by Saturn (WakeOne) and then proceed to chase Mercury (ZB1) and beat some sense into they/them (astrologically Mercury is the only planet without a true gender, I’m sure that says something about how ZB1 is always breaking down gender norms and also singing norms).
Venus is also the dispositor of Mars here. As you definitely remember, Mars’ position points to strife within the group making contract extension unlikely. Mars is in Libra which is Venus’ sign, Mars wants nothing more than to fight and cause its own demise but Venus won’t let it. Once Venus enters Leo there will be a kind of hidden understanding between Mars and Venus but both will be in a weak position by that point. There are self-induced scandals that staff has worked hard to suppress and if ZB1 has any shame they’ll understand this, sign a new contract and get back to work at the yaoi factory, but the chart shows that they don’t have any shame.
All in all, the signs of a perfect contract extension aren’t there. But neither are the signs of a perfect disbandment. This is likely going to be one of those semi-disbandments where a couple members who got a little too big-headed go off to do some acting or join another flop group. If they all renew it will be due to the efforts of their staff or due to their fears of what kind of info gets out there when they go solo. But you know miss zerosebeepboop, Uranus is right on the Ascendant which represents you too in this chart. The modern outer planets don’t usually matter but I think it does here since Uranus is the planet of delusion and confusion. You will be ok in the end miss zerosebeepboop
